Disneyana Show Finds

Had a great time at the show, got to catch up with lots of old friends and meet some new ones. And I actually found some things!
First, another quest item, what I believe to be a 1958 C ticket, the first ticket with the Alice attraction.
Second, a cool variation of the Wash Your Hands backstage sign.
And finally a 1958 Disneyland Motor Coach time table with a paragraph on the new Alice attraction. All in all a successful outing.

1953 Japanese Theater Program - Four Color 331 Cover

Second movie theater program from Japan features a cover based on Four Color 331 - but bright red!  The art has been redrawn completely, who can say why.
Take a look at the FC cover and you'll see what I mean.  The Dormouse looks more like a guinea pig now and the White Rabbit has quite the suntan...
Inside is typical program fare, lots of stills from the film, some advertisements for the theaters.
and even some live action reference shots!
Coolest is this very nice Al Dempster art double page spread.

1953 Japanese Theater Program - Nipper Cover

From a friend in Japan comes this very cool program from the Tokyo Gekijo theater.  We've seen this cover before on a Japanese item, the LGB-sized book posted here.  This art was originally used on the RCA Victor Little Nipper record book, something I've not gotten around to posting about as of yet, but it's coming, I promise
Inside is typical program fare, including some b/w art taken from the FC331 comic book, and used on another Japanese program, which I'll post shortly.
The Tokyo Gekijo theater was original a kabuki theater, having been converted to a movie theater in 1952, one year before Alice was released in 1953 in Japan.

Happy 4th of July!

Today is Independence Day here in the good ole US of A, and to celebrate our independence from England, what better way than with English characters in cloisonne.  Hope everyone is having a save and happy 4th!

Back from Dayton Disneyana!

The Dayton Disneyana show was a smashing success!  After a bumpy start with lots of travel-related delays and a flooded hotel room (no merchandise was involved), we were ready to go!
I couldn't have fit more into the CR-V if I tried!
I think our both looked pretty good considering we were total n00bs at this solo.
Wendy did a great job making the table displays look nice.
going so far as to give the Fantasia silverware a nice fresh polishing!  And I spent way too much time into the wee hours of the morning making custom table signs

But as these closeups show - even after two days - the display looked decent.

Who knows, maybe we'll do California next year ;-)
