Live Action Reference Photo 150-134 - Alice and the Cheshire Cat

This one is a shot in the dark, it is such a generic standing pose that it is hard to pin it down exactly, but this screen grab looks pretty close.
Other possibilities could be in the Tulgey Wood, or in the courtroom.

  1. OK, another question! Do you know if these are frame enlargements from 35mm film of Ms. Beaumont acting out her part, or are they taken with a regular camera?

Also, what is ambergris? (Just kidding)

  2. @major - I am 99.99% sure that these are enlargements of the 35mm reference footage, except where previously indicated.

  4. Matt! These photos are so wonderful! Thank you for posting them! I did a photoshop creation combining that photo of Kathryn Beaumont here and putting her into the animated Wonderland. Check it out!

  5. It struck me that Ms. Beaumont's dress is flatter than the animated version. The animators have definitely given Alice's skirt more of a bell shape.

Beaumont's hair is also curlier, but I guess they didn't need her to model Alice's hair.

  6. @Galactic Overlord-In-Chief - interesting observations. The poofy dress is probably easier to animate, as is the straighter hair I'm sure.
