Happy Valentine's Day - Vintage Tri-Fold Valentine with Mad Hatter and Alice

Happy Valentine's Day to all my readers.  Various home improvement projects have been putting a cramp on my blog posting, but didn't want to miss an opportunity for posting a vintage valentine.
This valentine is most likely from the 1960s, but I cannot be certain as there is no date on it.  I have vivid memories of valentines like these from my grade school days, the days when my parents (and probably the school) made me give a valentine to EVERYONE in my class, even those yucky creatures called girls.  Ah, how times change.

Am I alone in finding the concept of Alice and the Hatter as Valentines a bit disturbing - especially with his leery expression with his tongue lolling out? It's certainly not Carroll and I'm not sure it's Disney, but (of course), as always, it's fun to see what these characters have got up to in the interests of marketing! :)

@brian - you have to admit that poor Alice's options are quite limited: a madman, a married man (albeit royalty), a handyman, or a ménage á trois.

Very true! :)

There are some Disney fans on the internet who "ship" Alice and the hatter, but they base this entirely on how the costumed Alice and Hatter interact in Disneyland. See http://ship-manifesto.livejournal.com/132346.html for more...
