Little Golden Book - Alice au Pays des Fleurs - France

Today's post, #3 in the Garden of Live Flowers series, is from France. Alice au Pays des Fleurs literally translates to Alice in the Land of Flowers.

Again, different cover art than in the US edition, very nice art at that. There were a couple of different printings of this book, this is a first printing, but the only real differences in them are the back cover and the inside front cover.

Hi Matt, it should be noted perhaps that the January 1952 edition and its reedition have got 28 pages BUT if you get an edition published after 1958, you'll end up with 24 or even 20 pages only. The same occurs for all the Albums Roses.

Indeed, I have noticed differing page counts in later editions. I try to keep the content here strictly related to the original release (or thereabouts) but it is fascinating to discover all these strange variations. I'm sure it is the same as in the comic book industry, to keep prices the same they gradually reduced the page count until they reached some sort of lower limit and then they needed to raise prices. Thanks again for commenting!
